Fiber Trends Baby Owl Takes Flight Knitting Pattern FT234
Design by Debbie Radtke
Try your wings with this sweet baby owl. A strand of fine mohair held with the wool tweed gives this baby owl a soft, downy look.
Finished size is controlled by your yarn choice and the amount of felting. The baby owls shown are about 6½” (17cm) tall.
Yarn Requirements: Use a DK or worsted weight yarn that felts easily held with a strand of fine mohair. Owls are shown in Naturally Tussock 8-ply held with a strand of Naturally Mist Mohair. Beak and feet are knit in Perendale wool. 1 skein of each will make the owl.
Needles: 16” (40cm) circular and a set of double pointed needles in US size 9 (5.5mm).
Note: If you cannot find orange owl eyes you can make them by painting the backs of clear animal eyes with acrylic paint in your choice of color or by placing colored felt behind the eye. One of the owls in the photo has painted clear eyes and they look exactly like the purchased orange eyes.
*Kits contain Pattern, Tussock 8 ply, Mist Mohair, Perendale (for feet & beak) to make one (1) Baby Owl in your choice of colors.
Eyes and stuffing are not included. |
