Fiber Trends Personal Touch Felt Hat Knitting Pattern AC24
Design by Bev Galeskas
Sizes for adults and children. Give these felt hats a personal touch by decorating to suit your style.
Sizes: Small (child) & large (adult).
Fits head size up to 21" (23") (55 (60) cm).
Exact finished size is determined by the amount of felting and how your hat is blocked.
Yarn Requirements:
Worsted weight wool or a wool & mohair blend that will felt easily. If using two colors, both should be the same type of yarn.
Important: Even two colors of the same yarn may felt at different rates. To avoid disappointment, it is essential that you test felt your yarns together.
Yardage required:
Approximately 225 (280) yds (206 (256) meters) for a one color hat or 140 (185) yds (128 (169) meters) of main color and 90 (100) yds (82 (92) meters) of contrast for a two color hat.

Ms
The hat pattern was easy to follow. One thing I'm planning to do differently on the next try. When creating the tube at the top edge of the band, the bind off is on the inside/not visible side of the band. Before felting, this tube had a pronounced lean to the outside that I was afraid would exist after felting. It didn't turn out that way, but next time I will create the tube so I pick up and join and bind off on the outside so the "lean" will be towards the inside.
