Ysolda Teague Gretel Knitting Pattern

Beret with lattice cable pattern worked in worsted weight yarn. Pattern is given for three different styles to create a traditional fitted beret shape, a slouchy snood-like shape, or a regular style somewhere in between the other two and similar to a traditional tam (not pictured).

Gauge: 16 sts and 24 rows in st st = 4" / 10cm.

Finished measurements: The ribbed band of the beret is very stretchy and should fit most women. The pattern is given for 3 styles: fitted, regular and slouchy. The style created depends upon the number of unshaped rows worked between the band and the crown shaping, so there is no need to decide on the style before beginning.

Needle Size: Size 5 US / 3.75mm dpns; size 7 US / 4.5mm 16" / 40cm circular; size 7 US / 4.5mm dpns.

Materials: 155[195, 230]yds / 140 [180, 210]m of heavy worsted / aran weight yarn.
